sorrysuckers

well it has happened yet again, it never fails. On a daily basis I have to encounter someone who turns out to be a sorry sucker. Ok so it’s like this I work as a secretary for a non profit organization we do speech therapy for kids ages 18 months to twelve years. This is a totaly free service to the community, your income doesnt matter, it’s to help the kids that arent getting the help they need in the school system or those that just need extra help, speech and reading. We do fund raisers twice a year and you would think that the local newspaper would help us out with an article here and there but the person in charge of this area with the paper will not return e mails, or phone calls and every time I go there in person she is out. well we had a murder mystery dinner theater two weeks ago and for two months I had been trying to get a hold of her to write a story about it no such luck ( By the way it did very well by my posting flyers around town, but it could have done better had it been in the paper.) So anyway I sent an e mail to the photographer to see if he would come take pictures of the clinic and do a story of our new service which is free hearing tests for kids, apparently he showed it to the woman who never returns calls and believe it or not she called and tells me that she never got any e mails…. funny they didnt come back to me…she never got any messages…..funny, cause I left them on your personal voice mail. Anyway she makes an appointment to come look at the clinic and do a story on our new service, so she is supposed to be here in an hour and she calls to say she cant make it but she will be here at 1:30……. we shall see about this. First of all she talked to me on friday, says she wont forget me because her daughters name is Sharon as well. So when she calls to change the time she calls a completely different office and when she does call my office she talks to a different person thinking she was the one she talked to on friday……. I can see this going no where….what the heck is wrong with these people here we are trying to do the community a service, a free service and get our word out and these yahoos that are supposed to be reporting the news arent, if I had been her I would have been fired, she should be fired, we arent the only people who have had trouble with this woman it has been going on for some time now and I just have a feeling that if she does show up she will forget everything we tell her and we still wont have a story in the paper, this is all on top of the fact that I had my first novel published last august and I was hoping to have the newspaper do an article on the fact that a small town girl was being published for the first time….. didnt happen. I had my book signing and sold 50 books on my own but it would have been nice to have had it in the paper…… well this is just another case of running into some one that that turns out to be a sorry sucker that you cant depend on.
